You'd never guess this was the new kid on the block, to look at it or to be settled in at one of its compact, comfy tables. But having been closed since the late 1980s, this place opened again just a year ago, under the deft management of the crew from nearby El Federal. The bar has quickly gathered a large, eclectic gang of regulars, who come for coffee and chat, for the huge menu, containing everything from tiny snacks and very good burgers to full-blown meals, and for the general pleasant ambiance. It must be good - the former owner, Reuben Derliz, who ran the joint when it was a buzzing literary café, is a regular at its tables now.
