All the cuts of meat here are exquisite; but most nights, it's the ojo de bife (rib-eye) and entraña (skirt steak - a novelty to most foreigners) that are recommended by the waiters. Combine any of them with the baked potatoes with bacon and Philadelphia cheese and a fresh salad. Classy but affordable, this one's always reliable.

We arrived just after they opened, choose a seat and were promptly ignored for 15 minutes by the main server/hostess. Eventually our section server came by and was incredibly friendly and wonderful.

The food was good (we had the Ojo de bife with provencial fries and sweet potato fries - which incidentally are fresh fried chips/crisps not american/belgian style french fries). The price was right. The place was busy and we enjoyed ourselves.

As we left our card to pay our server let us know that the owners do not give tips on a card to the servers. Only cash tips left on the table go directly to the servers.

The bill also included AR$18.00 in "cubierto" fees. I dont know if this is stanadard in BA but we were told that it's a fee for the service/table cloths/cutlery, etc. Something I would normally consider as part of running a restaurant. I think we were swindled because we are tourists but there you are.

I and my partner live here 8 months of the year and have eaten here a minimum of 2 times per week. While the Managers and staff are very friendly...the two owners are NOT Gay Friendly. On our last visit March 12....it was evident that even though the food was moderately acceptable, the overwhelming bad attitude from one of the two owners....made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. This is most strange as on any given day the restaurant is 30% gay, of whom many have also commented to me their same feelings about the two owners. Until the owners wake up and view all patrons with the same respect....I strongly advise against visiting Gran Parrilla del Plata.
