The brushstrokes that mark the entrance to this, one of Cape Town's oldest galleries, read '25'. Step through the gate on to the royal-blue carpeting, and you're surrounded by walls dripping with colour. Riva Cohen has run Atlantic since its inception and rubbed shoulders with respected names like the late Maggie Laubser and Marjorie Wallace. Her gallery has moved three times since setting up shop in 1973; from Burg to Church and, finally, Wale Street. The collection includes names like Bester and Slingsby.
