This modern rectangular ossuary houses the remains of more than 2,500 exhumed bodies that were discovered on a building site in Green Point in 2003. The unmarked graves are believed to have been those of slaves, servants and other underprivileged Cape Town inhabitants from the 17th and 18th centuries, and the memorial pays tribute to these forgotten people and the contribution they made to building the city into what it is today. At the time of writing the city was still in search of a permanent curator for the building, but visits can be organised by arrangement.
