This tranquil house - seen as the finest surviving example of an 18th-century Cape Dutch farmhouse - is set in what is now a particularly unglamorous industrial length of lower Buitenkant Street. Behind the peach-coloured walls lies a period-style secret garden landscaped according to its original 1798 design, with hedges, walkways and a gazebo. The impressive William Fehr art collection provides a glimpse into life in the early Cape colony.
Open 8.30am-4.30pm Tue-Thur.
