Come hungry, begin the gastronomic adventure and you'll soon see what all the fuss is about. Starters include the likes of crayfish bouillon, duck-confit terrine and beetroot tart, while mains feature epics such as tender Chalmar beef fillet with oxtail, and tomatoey West Coast crayfish risotto. Or go big and indulge in the sublime tasting menu. The interior is intimate and features an ever-changing collection of contemporary artwork, perfectly complementing the cutting-edge fare.

Not sure how Jardines got a Critics Choice. Mediocre service with occasional displays of arrogance, dull decor (certainly not 'intimate'), very small portions of ok-tasting food and all way way way over-priced. Went once...never been back. For an excellent dining experience hop across to Fork on Long Street - not cheap either, but worth every penny
