May the Fourth is here and, with a brand new Star Wars movie hitting theaters this December, everyone seems to be obsessing over a galaxy far, far away. If you're like us, you've spent most of the morning pouring over the Vanity Fair photos of Adam Driver as the lightsaber-wielding Kylo Ren and Lupita Nyong’o providing motion capture for a mysterious CG character. (She probably won't be playing Jar Jar's daughter.) Once you've watched The Force Awakens trailer a few more times, you can continue celebrating with your fellow Jedi knights at a Star Wars Day event this evening.

If you want to experience the original Star Wars trilogy in its natural state—devoid of Hayden Christensen and CG Ewok eyelids—you can catch a free screening of the "Despecialized Editions" of Star WarsThe Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi at Emporium Wicker Park beginning at 6pm. At 8pm, Comfort Station will be holding a free screening of The Empire Strikes Back: Uncut, a crowdsourced remake of the Star Wars sequel that recreates the entire film with animation, puppets and low-budget live action footage gathered by fans all over the world.

Those with a few credits to spare should head to Geek Bar, where a four-course, Star Wars–themed dinner featuring Tattooine polenta and Hoth coconut rice pudding will be available for $40. The event will also feature a light side vs. dark side beer tasting, a Star Wars cosplay contest and a lightsaber demonstration by the cast of the EDGE Theatre's MacSith.
