You're probably accustomed to friends and strangers using Kickstarter to ask for money to fund their film projects, studio albums, inventions and potato salad recipes. Now, the platform is showcasing its users' success stories by throwing the fifth annual Kickstarter Film Festival—don't worry, you won't even have to make a donation to attend.

On October 15, the Music Box will host two screenings featuring films that raised money through the crowd-funding platform, including the acclaimed vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows and T-Rex, a documentary that follows the story of a teenage girl who became the first woman to box in the Olympic Games. If you're interested in seeing some flicks for free, you can RSVP for the 7pm or 9:20pm screenings at the Kickstarter Film Festival website.
