It's that time of the year again: Rooftop Cinema Club, the London-based outdoor movie theater experience, is returning to a rooftop in Fulton Market next month.

As has been the case the past couple of years, the screenings will take place on the fifth floor terrace of The Emily Hotel at 311 N Morgan Street starting May 8. The 1997 romantic comedy Love Jones will kick things off as the season opener, followed by a vast variety of movies that span a number of genres.

In addition to state-of-the-art LED screens and individual wireless headphones provided to all attendees, the experience is defined by the presence of lawn games for some post-screening fun, tropical decor and a range of seating options, from lounge chairs to loveseats. Of course, snacks and drinks (including cocktails curated by the hotel's own mixologists) will be on offer as well.

About the movies that will be screened: ticket holders will be treated to classic rom-coms (10 Things I Hate About You! Dirty Dancing! Pretty Woman! My Best Friend's Wedding! The Breakfast Club! When Harry Met Sally...!), top-notch musicals (Chicago! Grease! Mamma Mia!), kid-friendly picks (Shrek! Ratatouille! Freaky Friday! The Parent Trap! Harry Potter!) and much more.

In June, during Pride month, the movie slate will include a "collection of films either made by or starting LGBTQIA+ artists, those that tell their stories, and others that are just downright beloved by the community," according to an official press release.

Tickets to each screening go on sale today right here—where you can read through the full slate of films—and the program will run through July 7. Pro tip: catching a movie up on that rooftop is one of the most relaxing experiences you can have in Chicago, so you might want to schedule multiple visits!
