Japan Park

Situated next to the escalators of the first and second floors of Isetan KLCC is Japan Park – a small curated section showcasing products from or related to Japan. It’s a bit of a mishmash of home decor, fashion, and bath and body products.

One of the interesting products from Japan Park are the Moniko clutches. The designer Clare Smith reuses beautiful vintage kimonos and turns them into clutches so you can say that your accessory comes with a bit of history. Each clutch comes with a code that you can key in on their website to learn more about the fabric that they’ve used for that specific clutch.

If you’re looking for home decor items, check out the Kutani Seal porcelain tableware. Made in the Ishikawa prefecture, the tablewares are made using seal-transferring techniques onto white porcelain and baked in kiln. Although there are many designs available for the Kutani Seal, Japan Park specifically brought in the works of Japanese artist Akko whose designs are whimsical and child-like.

For something a little kitschy, you'll like the daruma dolls, traditional Japanese wishing dolls. The ones here however are a little less traditional and more on the sparkly side. Instead of the usual red, you can find them in assorted colours; they also come wearing party hats and headphones. The dolls are usually given as gifts and symbolise a sign of encouragement to achieve goals.

Besides all these, there are also jewellery and clothes by Japanese designers, napkins and cute toilet paper – because apparently the Japanese are very particular about their toilet paper.
