One of Stanley Kubrick's many masterpices, the three-hour Barry Lyndon (1975) is a beautiful period piece, and the winner of four Oscars. Starring Ryan O'Neal, the film is based on an 1844 novel. Not only does it look amazing (just check out the all-candlelit interiors), but Kubrick also indulges his penchant for classical music, using pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart and Schubert, to name a few, throughout the film. See—and hear—it on the big screen at the Egyptian.
