This brave new documentary discloses a little-known story about the end of the Vietnam War. When the South Vietnamese resistance was crumbling and the U.S. had largely withdrawn from the country in the face of a Communist victory, a handful of heroic Americans took matters into their own hands, carrying out unsanctioned operations in order to save the lives of as many of their South Vietnamese allies and friends as possible. The work, which is in turns shocking and inspiring, will run for a week at the Nuart. Filmmaker Rory Kennedy will be at the theater in person during opening weekend.
