Pasadena becomes LA County's go-to party spot during the month of September as their cocktail centric, city-wide SIP-temper competition takes charge. Over the course of six spirited weeks, 64 drinks from restaurants and lounges around Pasadena—from Pear Martinis at Sushi Roku to Central Park's signature sangria—will compete for online votes from the public. Here's how it works: After a costumed kick-off cocktail party on August 15, 32 pairs of cocktails will go head-to-head over two weeks, after which the winners will compete each following week, until there are only four cocktails left. Then, a grand taste-off finale will take place on September 25 at the Rose Bowl, where everyone in attendance will sip the four finalists and vote for their favorite.
