Get on board the local-grown and organic movement at the grand opening of this pop-up farm at a vacant lot in Venice (1033 Abbot Kinney). Green masterminds Home Grown Edible Landscapes are installing the functional garden to infuse some "hyper-locavorism" into the neighborhood. Meet the expert growers, tour the garden and pick up some edible plants for sale. Educational component "The Growing Classroom" will offer free tutorials on the hour from 11am-4pm covering gardening topics from when to harvest your edible favorites to growing and using edible flowers. The Garden will also be offering classes every weekend in June; check the website for a schedule.
