Time Out says
Still haven't thought of a New Year's resolution for 2014? On the first day of the year, get ready to commit to a healthier lifestyle. The Commitment Day 5K race is part of a nationwide push to get all Americans live healthier all yearlong. The movement is happening across 30 cities in the US simultaneously, with more than 300,000 participants. In LA, the 5K will start at 10am in Irvine. To help commit to a full year of healthy living, each participant will receive a free Commitment Day journal and T-shirt. Run, jog or walk with the entire family around the scenic William R. Mason Regional Park (the event starts on the southwest side). Register online or the day of the race starting at 9am. Parking is available in the park for $3 for the day.
