Freedom

Jeff Espinoza and Francisco Simón are two powerful players on the current jazz and soul scenes, and they're in town with a new project called Freedom. Performing along with them are incredible singers Velma Powell, her daughter Ciara Thornton and pianist Gonzalo Peñalosa. Their style could be defined as a fusion between traditional folk-spiritual music and the sounds of songs that were important in the US civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s.
