Time Out says

There are artists who get new fans with each new generation, as is the case with singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés, who's back in Madrid to present his latest album. There's already a 'sold out' sign plastered across the concert poster, unfortunately, but maybe you're one of the lucky ones who's got tickets. Milanés's latest album, 'Renaissance', isn't one pressed on a whim – it integrates sounds rediscovered by the Cuban musician and is also the result of a very specific vital moment. Following a kidney transplant that kept him away from live performances, Milanés is reborn personally and professionally with songs that combine genres like the 'changüí' from Guantánamo, 'guaguancó' or 'danzón' from Matanzas, and which he's incorporated into his traditional musical universe.
