How does a music festival that takes over an entire neighbourhood grab you? If you're groaning, you likely live in the Malasaña and hate music. But if you're jumping for joy, you'll be at VillaManuela, a festival that's music and a lot more. Practically the whole of the Malasaña barrio opens its doors to the public so everyone can get to know what the area has to offer in the way of art, shops and gastronomy. Some of last year's featured artists included Bored Nothing, Caballo Trípode, Cave, The EX, Los Chicos, Holy Wave, Lust For Youth, Optimo, Holy Fuck, Holograms and Territoire, and the venues wer TClub and Ocho y Medio, having grown from the 2013 edition.
In addition to the abundance of concerts at venues around the area, festival organisers want to promote the personality and lifestyle of this central Madrid neighbourhood. Exhibitions, tours of the best tapas and, of course, live music will be spread throughout during this three-day festival for all ages.
