Asturian food is now gaining international acclaim, but the regulars at Casa Lastra have known how good it is for a long time. Always packed with happy locals munching cabrales (a strong Asturian blue cheese) and pote asturiano (a stew with cabbage, haricot beans, black pudding, chorizo and potato) at the bar, or dining on perdiz (partridge) and merluza a la sidra (hake in cider) at the back, this is the place to come to sample good home cooking - and, of course, wash it down with a glass of traditional still cider.
