One of the most impressive buildings in neo-classical style in Nice, the Palais de Justice was built in the 1880s to house the city's law courts. While visits are not offered, the façade of the building is worth taking the time to look at. Or else just sit down for a breather on the sweeping staircase that leads to the busy square (where street vendors hawk engravings, vintage posters and books ranging from pulp detective fiction to historical texts).
