Alhough it shows mainly Hollywood fare, the Lucerna also is a hub for Czech indie and art cinema. It's also an art nouveau wonder that reminds you how magical movies once were. The elevated lobby bar has large windows that let you watch the 1920s-era shopping arcade. The coat-check is still functioning, and you can watch the films from the balcony. There's even a real curtain in front of the screen. The theatre has been steadily moving to fewer Hollywood and more European films in its programming, which also covers the Music on Film/Film on Music fest in October.
