I have been to gun ranges three times before, twice in America (LA and Myrtle Beach) and once in Budapest. This was my fourth visit to a range, so I kinda knew what to expect. I went with one male friend who has shot twice before and two female friends who have never shot before (its not something you do in the UK). My friend and I had a shooting program each, 4 different hand guns, a Scorpion and a pump action shot gun. For our female friends we rented a Glock 17 with 50 rounds for them to share. A 10 minute instruction video was all we needed to watch before we found ourselves in the range (no ID was checked before we started). Once in the range the instructor was really good. He kept us two lads sorted with each weapon whilst showing the girls what to do and kept an eye on them (I was keeping an eye on him and the girls, no complaints about his professionalism). We finished our shoot, the last gun in the program was a Smith and Wesson revolver, then the girls had 6 rounds each on the same revolved (which we didn’t ask for but I thought hey, the guy seemed like he was ok). We went to pay afterwards and found the bill higher than we expected, probably due to the 12 rounds on the revolver he ‘added’ on to our session without asking. What can you do, it wasn’t much more so we paid up but it was a bit cheeky. Overall it was a pretty good experience, good tuition and safety, just a shame about the ‘addons’.
