The 900 wears its status as the city's poshest hotel bar with aristocratic insouciance. The attitude is shared by its clientele: bankers, you-only-live-once tourists and elegant singles, who are seemingly waiting for their shipping magnate to come in to port. The room is abuzz from cocktail hour (complimentary hors d'oeuvres between 5pm and 6pm) with the silky sounds of a jazz trio and the smell of money filling the air.
