Impossible to miss, the huge silver golf ball that is Science World is a significant part of the Vancouver skyline. It's also one of the best destinations on a rainy day for kids of all ages and easily accessible by SkyTrain from Downtown. Whether your child is into mind-bending puzzles, the natural world or more physical pursuits, you'll find a wealth of interactive activities to keep them busy. Hourly fun and informative science shows blow things up and make loud bangs to keep youngsters' interest and there's a sectioned-off area for the under-sixes, complete with space for stroller parking. The wraparound Omnimax theatre is spectacular. There's a White Spot on site that will satisfy the hungriest child's burger cravings and, if it's a nice day, you can make use of the picnic area and playground overlooking False Creek.
