There are few places as delightful to spend a long lunch in San Telmo as Petanque, an honest-to-goodness French brasserie with a marvellously light and airy atmosphere. The menu bristles with the sort of Gallic standards it's hard to tire of, including an exceptional boeuf bourguignon, trout with almonds, tenderloin with potato gratin, steak tartare and, of course, ascargots, served by a corps of efficient and friendly waiters. For desserts, the creme brulee, the profiteroles, and the classic hot chocolate pudding stand out.

Probably the worst service and most inconsistent food Buenos Aires!

I have been here several times and it really hit an miss with this place.
Sometimes the food is good... sometimes it is not. But the service is pretty consistent.. always bad.

Today they started to by not bringing me a menu... I got up and fetched it myself!
Once I ordered they brought my soup to the next table over... then they got my main dish wrong... only for the french waiter to tell me that that is what I ordered.

Needless to say I left!

Pascal... get some real waiters!

I send the owner an email and here is his response: Thank you for your comments, all over the net...I will have appreciate that you talk to me first....please do not come back then..
All the best,

Now I know why the staff is so good!! ;o)
