Chicago Loop Alliance announced its ACTIVATE series is returning for a third year. The monthly events pack the Loop's most iconic alleyways with art installations and are slated to occur from 5-10pm from May through October.

This year's theme focuses on the five senses—sight, smell, sound, taste and touch—with exhibits that feature "dynamic art, music and lights." Similar to last year, the exact details and location of each event won't be released until two weeks prior to its occurrence. Sponsors include Lagunitas, Bai, Vita Coco, Perrier, SkinnyPop and KIND, so expect plenty of complimentary snacks and refreshments. Those who RSVP to ACTIVATE sessions receive a free drink ticket, good for one beer or glass of wine to enjoy at the event. Guests can RSVP once the location of the first event is announced.

The ACTIVATE art series is a placemaking initiative that encourages attendees to hang out in the Loop, learn about their city and engage with the downtown area. Each event will feature unique promotions from area businesses such as special deals and shopping coupons.

Chicago Loop Alliance says the ACTIVATE series has brought in almost $900,000 to local businesses and entertained more than 30,000 people in its two-year run.

Here's the full list of ACTIVATE dates in 2016:
