Time Out says

It's the 97th edition of the world's largest and oldest African-American parade, which celebrates Chicago's youth just before the school year begins. Hundreds of thousands of attendees line King Drive to see colorful floats, marching bands and talented dance and drill teams. The parade's two-mile route begins in the Bronzeville neighborhood at 39th Street and Martin Luther King Drive before moving south to 51st Street and into Washington Park.
