Run for Gus

Kids love to run. Whether it be through the sprinklers, in the backyard or at the park, it's hard to contain their endless energy. Races are the perfect way to expose them to new places across the city and give them a sense of accomplishment (think medal) for completing the task. These five races offer up everything from views of the zoo to a run in costume.

Walk for Wishes

  • Critics choice

Running or walking dressed up as your favorite superhero, animal or princess is every kid's dream. This 5k makes that dream a reality in the hopes to make dreams happen for some very sick kids. Make a Wish Foundation holds this race each year on Montrose Harbor with food, fun and more. Prizes are awarded for best costume. All ages can participate and strollers are welcome.
