Once the center of Chicago's Italian-American community, Little Italy is still home to some of the city's best Italian restaurants and bars, where you can stop by for a sandwich or a beer. Due to its proximity to the University of Illinois at Chicago, the area has also become know as University Village. Even if you're not a college student, the neighborhood is a great place to visit a park, go shopping or admire some historic church facades.
