Cold War Kids

Praise indie purism all you like, but few bands make music designed to lessen fame and lose money. So perhaps we should give Cold War Kids a break for going the adult-contemporary route with their 2011 album, Mine Is Yours, a wan stab at inoffensive acceptance that we suspect. The Kids next made a concept record inspired by a 1933 novel by Nathanael West, Miss Loneyhearts. The brooding L.A. band's latest record of Hollywood blues, Hold My Home was released in October 2014. Coasts opens the show.
