You know a place is authentic when Japanese old-timers shuffle through the door as if they’re simply coming home. We’ve become best friends with the thicker-than-usual miso soup and the lightly fried potato croquettes. We also love the giant shrimp tempura, the flavorful goma ae and the sweet unagi (eel) rice bowl. But what this home-style cafeteria is known for is piping hot udon with thick noodles edging out bits of meat and fresh-chopped vegetables.
