What’s happening to the Chicago hot-dog stand? They’re all going gourmet like this one, which features unusual sausages (chorizo with roasted red peppers, apple-chicken topped with smoked gouda) as well as weekly specials, such as bison or duck (in sausage form, of course). Of course, not everyone can be Hot Doug's. But even though the flavor combinations aren't hitting it out of the park here, the bare, divey look of this place remains perfectly suited for a traditional, spicy, crunchy, totally unfancy Chicago dog.
