Chiditarod

Ongoing COVID-19 concerns mean we won't get a full iteration of Chiditarod, which typically sends racers careening through the streets of West Town with souped-up shopping carts in tow. Instead, the organization will host "Blockditarod," a block party that will continue Chiditarod's goals of raising money for local nonprofits combating hunger issues. Fully vaccinated attendees can check out live music, decorated cart art installations, a beauty pageant and other block party activations—just make sure you donate at least 69 pounds of food before the day of the event.
