La Maison des Gourmets review Rate it

This charming French pâtisserie (above an excellent bakery of the same name) is stylishly decorated in a palette of off-white and cool grey, and is the perfect environment in which to tuck into some sophisticated snacks (french toast with bacon for breakfast, savoury tarts for lunch, and cakes all day long). Service is authentically Parisian (in the sense that it can sometimes be slow and less than charming), but with pastries and coffee that taste this good, you'd be surprised how tolerant you can be.

We went to La Maison last Sunday and I can honestly say it was awful, we should have known when we saw that we were the only people in the restaurant all the other restaurants in the area were packed anyway I ordered the eggs benedict and my other had the hung beef my eggs were just ok although they were served on a cheap baguette the bacon was like a piece of plastic as for the hung beef in was vile it was like a souped up piece of cheap stewing beef totally inedible we gave it back the waiter then informed us that they would take it off the bill but that the chef could not see a problem would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
