Time Out says

The writer and director Terence Davies ('The House of Mirth') will introduce a rare double-bill of his two brilliant and poetic autobiographical Liverpool films, 'Distant Voices, Still Lives' (1988) and 'The Long Day Closes' (1992) – the two films, set in working-class Liverpool of the 1940s and 1950s, which proved that Davies is one of Britain's most inventive and original modern filmmakers. Davies is currently putting the finishing touches to 'The Deep Blue Sea' (2011), starring Rachel Weisz, and this is a rare opportunity to explore his first two features in the presence of the man himself.
