The parade also includes the Arigato Parade, featuring Japanese musicians and performers, many dressed in traditional costume. In Trafalgar Square, there will be traditional and contemporary Irish music and dance on the main stage including Crystal Swing (12.40pm), Comhaltas London and Mulkerrin Brothers (1.50pm), Four Men and a Dog (2.30pm), Hammerstep (3.10pm), Gemma Hayes (3.50pm) and the High Kings (4.45pm) along with other activities and events. Also joining the celebrations are Irish Olympians and Paralympians including runner Sonia O'Sullivan, gymnast Kieran Behan, high-jumper Deirdre Ryan and boxer Kenneth Egan.

Good on the Irish! From a Londoner! We should all go down there for a good drink!
why an patrick but not george brad? post-colonial or even post-Cromwellian guilt.
Quite simply the Irish have spirit and the English Eastenders!
I agree with Brad and was just about to write something along similar lines. It's nothing against the Irish, the Scots or the Welsh but why do we not see our own national day being celebrated? Also, do you think a St George day parade would go down well in Edinburgh, Cardiff or Belfast (or Cork)? What on earth is this all about?
why are we continuing with this ridiculous celebration of a foreign national holiday in times of such financial hardship when we do not even bother celebrating our own national day? It defies logic. Time to stop this celebration in London.
