Barbican Weekender: Natural Circuits

Advertising

Time Out says

The Barbican's ever-popular 'Weekender' series continues with two days of family-friendly events that see what the combined forces of nature and human creativity can come up with. On offer are 'Tweet Poetry' writing sessions with Claire Collison, an evolving woodland forest created by Black Country Atelier and 'danceroom Spectroscopy', an environment of sound and images controlled by the energy of people in the room. Kids big and small will delight in the double bill of Oliver Knussen's fantasy operas 'Where the Wild Things Are' and 'Higglety Pigglety Pop!' (Nov 3 2pm, 7pm; £25, £15 under-16s; age 7+), based on the beloved children's books by Maurice Sendak, with libretti by the author. This new production is presented as a multimedia staged concert that integrates live and filmed moving images into the performance by the Britten Sinfonia, conducted by Ryan Wigglesworth with soloists including Claire Booth and Susan Bickley.
