Finnish Church Christmas Fair 2012

Time Out says

You can't get any Christmassier than a Finnish market, and the annual one held in and around this beautiful modern church in a Rotherhithe cul-de-sac is a delight. Products on sale range from classic Finnish design pieces to more affordable Moomin toys, Christmas cards and of course food – including imported rye breads, gravadlax, Fazer chocolates and strange roundels of squeaky cheese (best served with cloudberry jam). Outside, a majestic snow queen and acrobatic snow elf on stilts sprinkle snow over visitors to the street market, and throughout it all there'll be lots of hot food on the BBQ, including reindeer stew (sorry Rudolph) and what the Finns call their 'national vegetable' – an enormous, tasty pork sausage slathered in mustard and pickle; wash it down with a Lapin Kulta beer. In the upstairs cafe

coffee is twinned with cinnamon buns and Christmas pastries.
