Bridget Riley is known for her exuberant paintings that feature repeated monochromatic and coloured geometric forms, what this exhibition seeks to reveal is how the post impressionist works of Serut have been an continual influence on Riley. Here, her copy of ‘Bridge at Courbevoie’ – one of the Courtauld collection’s highlights – will be brought together with Seurat’s original alongside other important abstract works by the British painter to chart her development from her breakthrough in the late 1950s to today.
