After establishing itself as a leading force in conceptual art, this always on-trend gallery relocated from the East End to Fitzrovia in 2008, more than doubling its exhibition space. The new gallery was designed by architects David Kohn, and is a renovation of the ground floor and basement of an office building constructed in the 1950s. Stuart Shave Modern Art was the first gallery to open in 1998 on Vyner Street. His arrival in the West End marked the beginning of a new phase in the gallery's development, reinforced by the success of artist Nigel Cooke's opening show, 'The New Accursed Art Club'.
