Gianni Piacentino

The Italian artist’s need for speed is evident in his aerodynamic sculptures. As one of the founding members of Arte Povera, Piacentino fascination for the ‘technical nature of things’ as opposed to nature itself distanced his association with the movement. Here, Andrea Bellini, director of Geneva’s Centre d’Art Contemporain curates works from 1965 to the present day, giving an overview of Piacentino’s technologically inspired practice.
