We no longer live in a time of the calling card; its 21st century equivalent might be a selfie on Instagram, but these intriguing pieces of paper used by distinguished Victorian’s have found new purpose thanks to Tom Butler’s painterly reworking’s. Any distinguishing facial feature has been over painted with highly intricate patterns that veer between beautiful and grotesque, giving new meaning to old faces.
