Time Out says

The museum is based in the British Dental Association headquarters and contains the largest collection of dental heritage in the UK. Objects and images telling the story of how dentistry developed from a marketplace spectacle to the complex procedures of today include instruments and equipment, furniture, photographs, fine and decorative arts – items range from nineteenth-century dental floss to toothache cures, clockwork drills to toothpaste adverts. The museum began in 1919 when Lilian Lindsay, the first woman to qualify as a dentist in the UK, donated several old instruments to the BDA. Today the collection contains around 30,000 items.
