Miss G - The Private World of Greta Garbo Exhibition, Belmacz Gallery, Press 2013

Get an inside view into the life of one of Hollywood’s most notoriously private stars in this new exhibition at the Belmacz gallery. Displaying the late stars’ signature, oft-mannish sartorial choices, the exhibit looks at a number of ensembles from Greta Garbo’s expansive wardrobe, including some surprisingly feminine pieces such as a pink and white pinstriped apron, and a floral all-in-one yoga-suit. Also on display will be a number of personal effects from the actresses’ New York apartment, along with modern accessories designed and personally selected by Manolo Blahnik and milliner Stephen Jones, to reflect the contemporary nature of the late stars’ personal style. A silent auction of all pieces in the exhibition will be taking place throughout, with £5 from most bids donated to children’s charity Magic Breakfast. Full proceeds from the sale of Manolo Blahnik’s brogues however will go entirely to the charity. Bids can only be placed in the gallery.
