Also known as simply Shoreditch Church, St Leonard's is probably Saxon in origin, but its current building dates back to around 1740. Its bells are mentioned in the nursery rhyme 'Oranges and Lemons'.
In June 2015 St Leonard's Church will gain a Shakespeare-themed garden, created by the gardening students of the Spitalfields Crypt Trust's New Hanbury Project. It will launch officially on the Sunday of Open Garden Squares Weekend 2015.
