  • Simply the best martinis this jaded martini loving, long in the tooth, bar goer has ever had! The place, the staff, under the direction of Allesandro, are a delight and exceptional. At cocktails hour the place is full to overflowing so getting a table can be tricky as there are no reservations. My advice stick the wait in the lobby out and have a sensational drink when eventually seated. No music, no distractions, just the marvellous hum of adult conversation..surely one of the greatest of all sounds Can understand some may not "get it" and thats fine but for those that do what a pleasure and delight.

  • Went to try their Dry Martini, as it was supposed to be a "must". The space is rather small with no privacy at all: it was difficult to concentrate on my newspaper as next to my ear a young couple was talking (not too loud) about their things. Not the place to have discreet conversation. The waiter was correct and agreeable, but lacking the expertise and knowledge that I expected. The Dry Martini was rather good. Excellent gin: No.3 London Dry, but could not find out the vermouth they use (exclusily made for them, the waiter said), the he suggested 'Martini Extra dry'. Don't think so! I can't agree it is too sweet.... Noilly Prat works much better. Price for the whole thing (drink+3 little bows with munchies, olives, and sthing else): £17.
