The Yorkshire Grey

I've been in here a few times and I wouldnt say its anything special, its fine for an after work drink but I wouldnt go out of your way to go here!

This review is seriously outdated. It used to be a wonderful brewpub when it opened in the middle of the'90s. The owner sold it after a few years, it's now a horrible gastropub. Should not be on this list.

1. This pub is not near the BBC, it is near some ITV offices but I'm not sure if Orwell would have approved. 2. This pub is not in Fitzrovia. 3. This used to be an honest boozer but a few years ago had a crappy gastropub makeover, and now it is full of media muppets

I am not sure what TimeOut editors are smoking or what kind of discount they've been promised but this is one of the worst pubs I have ever been to. The only reason I came several times was because of the Pub Quiz which was discontinued. The selection of beers is nothing special. The service is terrible. The place itself is dirty and cheap (yes, that is part of the pub culture but everything has its limits). The food is abysmal, I tried pretty much everything on the menu and all of it tasted worse than the Wetherspoon. It also takes ages to order something. The worst was when they poored coke from a plastic 2L bottle rather than the fountain or glass bottle. This is just too cheap. And tastes the same. Also quite expensive given the quality. Until there is a completely new management instituted recently, avoid at all costs.
