  • This is one of my locals, I love it. Not only do the bar staff get to know you and always say hello, but the oweners have got to know me and my friends over the past couple of years. They really are a fantasic bunch and I'm so glad they took over this place, it's always a fun place to be on the weekend, no tourists but also no one taking themself too seriously. Really good food - this coming form someone who grew up around food and foodie parents. If you're in NW1 or NW5 and fancy a nice meal and a gin please check out the Fawcett, you will not be dissapointed. The locals are fairly friendly too, so come say hi.

  • Well said phil below, this is a good pub, a great restaurant with great staff. We ate Sunday lunch in the upstairs room whilst watching the six nations rugby, the food was superb, yes expensive but nothing out of the ordinary for London. In the restaurant downstairs it was full of Sunday lunchers and the upstairs had a relaxed and informal Sunday pub Camden crowd, eating and watching the rugby. We called the CF first to see if they were showing the match, they said they were and it was just general seating upstairs, however they kindly rang us back (must have done 1471) to let us know they were in fact taking bookings and reserved our table for us. Detail like this makes for good service and we weren't disappointed when we ate there. Five stars!

  • Went on a Friday evening. Food would grace any restaurant, never mind pub...excellent. The loud music may no be everyone's cup of tea if eating, but all in all great ale, cool gin, good service. I have no idea what Time Out are talking about, and the below reviews look real to me.

  • Had a roast here, yesterday evening- it was absolutely delicious! Great quality meat, top notch gravy and perfectly cooked veg. Cannot believe time out's review- you need to visit again! Look on all other review sites to see the proper rating- this review is not 'shilling' but happy customers trying to put the record straight following time out's terribly inaccurate review. Time out is not to be trusted! Colonel fawcett roasts at 14 quid are!!

  • Love this place. Food is so nice. Especially love the Sunday roasts! Love the fact it's hidden out the way so not full of tourists. Music always stuff I want to hear. Recommend it yo anyone who enjoys the Camden vibe but with true camdeners.

  • We ( colleagues and I) go all the time, 15 of us pile in and get fed really quickly. The quality is superb, really great seasonal gastropub food in a very cool and 'camden meets shortditch' sort of vibe. It's a gin and ale bar, which serves my boyfriend and I really well! Everyone needs to go try it out, to avoid disappointment, I'd book, just in case. Also, on a Saturday night, it's really good fun too, they put DJs on and there's two floors and a garden to spill into. Sorry.. I'll stop going on! just go!!!

  • two star rating is a travesty. easily the best pub/bar/restaurant in Camden if not London. Tv's showing sports, extensive gin list, excellent home-cooked food, two outside areas and dj's in the evening. TimeOut have massively dropped the ball on this one

  • Went to this pub today as it is close to where I live, walked past it a few times and it seemed friendly and cool. I do not understand what is driving the review from Time out, who I respect. It must have been a bad day in the pub! The food was really good, best pork belly I had in a while. Friendly service and lots of space. Good mix of people hanging, families, couple having a bite an reading sunday papers (like us)... I look forward to going back. It seems to be a place especially set for cold winter afternoons, which the 2 fire places and soft music playing in the background. Would recommend.
