As its name suggests, Jewel in Piccadilly is a glittering bar/club with plenty of bling factor. Decent bar food is served along with good cocktails on a strong drinks list.

THE WORST BAR IN LONDON - Danielle the Bartender was outrageous

We had booked the VIP lounge for our Christmas Party, a group of 30 people. The staff there were appalling, when coming in to pay for the deposit days in advance the staff refused us to view the VIP section. We were disappointed however decided to go through with the venue and understood due to the period of time they could of been busy. Yesterday night we were there and ordered 8 tequila shots, for one of my colleagues to accidentally spill one when the bar tenders aggressive manor was "YOU WILL NOT GET ANOTHER SHOT ITS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY" eager to provoke an argument, fair enough we did not have a problem with this and I just suggested we get another shot for her and disregarded her rudeness for no reason. I then asked for salt and the bar tender said "IF YOU HAD LOT HAVE NOT TAKEN THE SALT YOU WOULD PROBABLY WOULD HAVE THE SALT NOW" which this statement was false as this was the first time we ordered shots then we asked her why can't we have the salt? and she persistently said "I AIN'T GIVING YOU NO SALT". What bar, pub, club would ever deny clients of salt with their tequila shots fully paid for? We were furious as the fact she kept shouting that she would not get us salt. We asked for her name and she shouted "DANIELLE" she ran off to the security guard and tried to manipulate the situation to say we were rude, aggressive and was shouting at her to get free drinks and tried to get us kicked out. After the security guard realised that all we wanted was salt he allowed us back in and gave us salt. Later, she explained to my colleague that she was having a bad day because she was working on her birthday, and found out that she was trying to get a manager of the team kicked out she made a comment "if she's your manager, I feel sorry for you". Their staffs lack of professionalism, the inability to differentiate personal and work was outrageous, due to her having to work on her birthday and taking her anger on her clients and manipulated the truth to attempt to get her own way and cover her back. Fortunately we did not get kicked out for this mishap probably because we were worth 80% of their business that night, however I am totally astonished at her behaviour - with such a competitive economic climate with numerous bars in central London, anyone would expect a level of standard customer service..... and salt with their tequila shots. Retail and hospitality is a very small and well connected business, we will be sure to be expressing our experience to our friends, family, colleagues and future companies. I really do hope this review will be seen, as petty as the situation was, it was real.

Spot of cocktail making for a friends hen do! Great fun and a good start for a night out as you can go down to the main bar afterwards for a few more drinks and a warm up dance.

The class saw us race to make the best mojitos and porn star martinis, not to toot my own horn but my mojito won, oh yeah! The food provided was okay, good lining for the stomach if you’ve got a heavy night ahead.

The atmosphere was surprisingly quiet for a Friday at 10pm though, we left as it didn’t seem like it was going to pick up but for a quick drink after work, it’s not bad.
