Awesome place, never disappoints. Great in Summer on the jetty and great in winter with the fire on and all the candles. They've now just added a bunch of heat lamos and on the jetty with a tent - great for me as this is my favourite part of the pub being right over the river! Food is delicious and made fresh - amazing gravy :)

Dating back to 1620, the Mayflower appears suddenly along the Thames path, its white and black-timbered frontage set with diamond-leaded windows positively oozes tradition. Inside, beyond the counter, the small main bar area (cosy alcoves, open fire) leads to a deck outside at the rear.
The pub has been a thriving local over the years: in the front room, brass plaques on the back of the dark wooden seats commemorate deceased regulars. There is also a waterfront terrace with great views.
The menu throughout the pub and restaurant serves delicious British gastro-pub dishes and European-fusion style food, cooked fresh to order by top chefs. The main bar has a great range of well kept ales and lagers and tastefully chosen wines. This is a great place for a celebration, family meal or quirky date with the cosy snug area perfect as a function room for a gathering of around 20 or you can hire out the upstairs restaurant for sit down meals of up to 45 people.
Serving food all day Saturday and Sunday and on week nights from 6pm until 9.30pm, The Mayflower is very popular and it is advisable to book a table in the restaurant.
The nearest tube is Rotherhithe station on the orange line, just a two minute walk away, or Canada Water & Bermondsey stations are just ten minutes away on the Jubilee.

New owner took over 3 years ago and completely transformed the menu, ambience and overall experience of the place. It's simply the best kept secret in London and it's my local! Staff are really laid back and freindly, there's no pretentiousness here - they think it's a great pub too!
My favourite pub in London!! I always bring my friend and family or anyone who doesn't know it!! I advice to take the special, the pie is amazing!! the beer reel beer (Ale) and the staff great and cheerful. The terrace is the best spot during a warm evening even if you need to come early as it is very crowded!!
Nice crowd. Ate LAMB char grilled with salad. The lamb was extremely rubbery. I mentioned this to bar staff and the the waiters but not even an apology! So pls don't order the lamb which was red inside and doesn't settle well in the stomach. Staff not helpful. Not recommended.
Went December 2011 for my birthday. Went last night for my partners birthday. Both times experienced terrible service. Last night the food was terrible. I paid £16.99 for a fillet steak, waited about an hour after finishing the starter before the steak arrived, I had ordered it rare, so it was hard to ruin, but they managed. It was so dry, it had obviously been reheated, the chips were dry too. Plate presentation did not exist. Utterly terrible, it was low quality pub grub, charging gastro pub prices. I will never eat there again, unless I hear that the management and chef have both changed.
